Video Course: Alveolar Ridge Preservation


Course Summary:
Following extraction of a tooth, within the first month most of the bone resorption occurs in the extraction socket. If the dimensions of the extraction site is not preserved using a socket graft the extraction site can lose 50% of its width within the first 12 months. When Immediate implant therapy is not an option, Alveolar ridge preservation technique can be performed in order to preserve the dimensions of bone and soft tissue in the extraction site. The goal of this course is to review types of Alveolar ridge preservation techniques, their indications, and advantages, as well as Case reports with treatment outcomes to prepare dentists with information that allow them to make the best choices for what procedures to utilize for their patients undergoing Alveolar ridge preservation procedure.
